A vehicle jumped the curb in New York City’s busy Times Square area, striking pedestrians, reports are confirming at least one fatality at the scene. The FDNY confirmed that 13 people are receiving treatment. A local New York station reported that the driver is currently in custody and being questioned. The incident occurred at the intersection of 43rd St. and 6th Ave.
Richard Rojas, 26, did not appear to have a scratch on him when Times Square worker Alpha Balde and a Planet Hollywood bouncer saw him sprinting away from the red Honda he allegedly used to plow through a lunchtime crowd in one of the busiest intersections in the city.
Balde, 57, a ticket agent for CitySightseeing, said the two men grabbed the driver, and held him until cops took over.
